"Vettes at Lake Gaston"

The second annual Vettes at Lake Gaston was held June 5th, 6th 2010. Thirty three Beachcombers cruised to Lake Gaston on Saturday and went to the Watersview Restaurant. We had lunch outside overlooking a panoramic view of the lake. We then drove to Dianna and John Clyburn's lake home and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon of boats rides and conversation.  Charlie and Patty Brown brought over their new boat and provided tours of the lake.  Art and Hazel Fritz provided a keg for everyone's enjoyment.  We had a BBQ dinner later that evening out on the deck.

On Sunday we had a spirited drive along some of the curvy back roads surrounding the lake. We then cruised to the 903 Grill and had lunch out on their large gazebo. Some Beachcombers then went down to the docks and fed the many 70lb catfish that anxiously await the tourists. Sunday afternoon we visited the Rosemont Winery where we enjoyed a wine tasting and tour before heading back to Hampton Roads.  Many new friends were made and that is just one the things that make this club so much fun.
