Social Event
Date: Friday, July 10, 2020 At 08:00:00 AM
Duration: 2 Days

UDATED INFORMATION Friday, July 10 – VAWD Meet and Greet. If you signed up for the Friday night “Meet & Greet”, please join us at the Waterside District Harbor Club on the second floor from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Upon your arrival you’ll check in and receive tickets for door prizes and for your first drink. There will also be a “One of a Kind Corvette Quilt” that you can bid on via a silent auction. Following the “Meet and Greet”, you will have access to Stripers Restaurant, Cogans Pizza and the Smokehouse Kiosk for dinner options.
Parking for Friday evening is available in the multi-level parking garage across the street and you can walk across the bridge to enter the Harbor Club. Due to Covid 19, Waterside District and the Beachcombers Corvette Club will be practicing the following guidelines and restrictions. Face masks must be worn to enter the Waterside District venue. Guests entering the venue will undergo a temperature check. Hand washing stations will be available throughout the venue and hand sanitizer will be available from any Beachcomber working the event. We want everyone to feel they are in a safe environment.

UDATED INFORMATION Saturday, July 11 – VAWD Gathering. The Saturday Corvette gathering will start with “check-in” at 9:00 am on July 11, 2020. Simply drive your Corvette to the main drive aisle directly in front of Waterside District no earlier than 9:00 am and no later than 10:00 am where you will be checked in and directed where to go for parking your car. If you volunteered to help work this event, you are requested to arrive at Waterside District between 7:45 and 8:00 am. Please keep in mind that all participants will be parked no later than 10:00 am and will remain parked on the Promenade behind Waterside until 4:00 pm. Corvettes will not be allowed to move from the Promenade prior to 4:00 pm. If you are unable to stay the entire time, please notify one of our folks at check-in and other parking arrangements will be made to accommodate you.

VAWD IS A GO! The Waterside District (WD) management team has informed us that their reopening shouldn’t have a negative effect on our event. So we are pushing forward with plans for our mega event for the year. If you haven't signed up yet please go to Event Brite and do so.

To make this or any event successful it takes people who are willing to help with the various things that need to be done. For VAWD this is especially true as it takes several people to smoothly get everyone checked in and safely parked. There have been requests in the Weekly Updates and in a dedicated email seeking volunteers that will be needed and there are still positions open. If you want to volunteer, contact me to get your name added to one of the lists. Please consider helping, it will only take a few hours of your time. Each volunteer will receive a uniquely special gift for the giving of their time. Thanks.

You should have received a welcoming email from Jimmy Clemmer highlighting the activities for July 10 and 11. Check-in or registration time on July 11 is 9:00 a.m., this is the time to arrive if you are not volunteering to help. If you volunteered to help with this event, you are requested to arrive between 7:45 and 8:00 a.m., on July 11.

Now is a good time to make sure you locate your name tag so that on July 10 and 11 you’ll be able to display you’re a Beachcomber and remind everyone who you are. Can’t find your name tag or you need a new one? Contact Michele Suttle ASAP to get one on order to have it in time for VAWD.
